Sequoia Montessori School is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, currently proposing to open an Oregon Public Charter School to serve elementary students in the Salem-Keizer Public Schools, School District 24J. The school will open in the fall of 2015. The school will initially offer two blended classrooms serving students in grades 1-3. The school will expand in the second year to three classrooms and add upper elementary grades as the school matures. Eventually Sequoia will serve 90 children in grades 1-5. Sequoia Montessori School’s curriculum aligns with state and district standards, and is based on proven models developed by other Montessori public charter schools. Enrollment will be offered through lottery, ensuring a fair process for all of those who are interested in attending. OUR MISSION is to provide an authentic and nurturing Montessori education to develop creative, inquisitive minds.
